🌿 A Healing Escape Near Seoul: Bucheon Botanical Garden and the Hidden Café Supia

Hello, it’s been almost two months since I last wrote here. It feels so good to be back! I’d love to share a recent experience that brought me peace and healing—my visit to Seoul Botanical Garden and Bucheon Botanical Garden. If you're tired of the gray city life and need a breath of fresh air, keep reading!

Living in a fast-paced city like Seoul, I believe we all need moments of healing. There’s something incredibly calming about being surrounded by plants. On this trip, I was finally able to take off my mask and breathe deeply, which is rare in the dusty city air.

One of the highlights was a hidden gem called Supia, a café inside the Bucheon Botanical Garden. It felt like a secret I almost didn’t want to share! My husband and I drove about 20 minutes from Sinjeong-dong to get there.

At first, he wondered why I wanted to visit a lake park in the middle of winter, but once we arrived, the atmosphere instantly changed. It was full of colorful trees, soft moss, and quiet paths that made our eyes and minds feel truly refreshed.

The moment I walked in, my glasses fogged up from the humidity—yes, it’s that lush inside. But the moisture in the air, mixed with the scent of trees and plants, felt incredibly soothing. I even pulled my mask down a little just to take deeper breaths (don’t tell anyone 😉).

The botanical garden café is spread over three floors. It’s perfect for families or couples looking for a peaceful outing. On the first floor, there's a small café with very affordable drinks—around 3,000 KRW for tea and 4,000 KRW for lattes, since it's run by the city. Admission was about 5,000 KRW for two adults, and there's a discount if you're a Bucheon citizen or from a sister city.

Parking is available at the nearby Lake Park, but try to arrive early—spots fill up quickly, especially since this kind of relaxing space is hard to find so close to Seoul.

If you take a jog around the lake and then drop by the garden for tea, it honestly feels like paradise. On the second floor, there are turtles, rhinoceros beetles, and parrots—great for kids! And on the third floor, you can walk through the greenhouse and enjoy even more plant life.

I’ve included some photos from my visit—hope you enjoy the visual healing too! 🌱
